In Q1 2023, the top carpooling and ridesharing apps in the Middle East on the Android platform exhibited diverse trends in downloads and active users. Here's a detailed look at the performance of the leading apps: Uber - Request a ride, Careem – rides, food & more, Ego, Bolt: Request a Ride, and Yango — different from a taxi.

Uber - Request a ride saw a gradual decline in weekly downloads from approximately 33K at the end of December to about 19K by the end of March. However, weekly active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating around 700K throughout the quarter.

Careem – rides, food & more experienced a peak in weekly downloads in late February at around 25K, before dropping to approximately 14K by the end of March. The app's weekly active users followed a similar trend, peaking at nearly 241K in late February and then declining to about 180K by the end of the quarter.

Ego showed a strong upward trend in weekly downloads, starting from around 10K at the beginning of January and reaching approximately 19K by the end of March. Correspondingly, weekly active users for Ego increased from around 44K at the beginning of the quarter to about 60K by the end.

Bolt: Request a Ride maintained a relatively stable number of weekly downloads, fluctuating around 10K to 12K throughout the quarter. The app's weekly active users also stayed consistent, hovering around 60K during the same period.

Yango — different from a taxi exhibited varied trends, with weekly downloads peaking at around 12K in mid-February before declining to about 7K by the end of March. Weekly active users showed a similar pattern, peaking at approximately 27K in early March and then decreasing to around 23K by the end of the quarter.
